As a small local charity, we rely on the generosity of our community to continue the work we do. Every donation, no matter its size, helps us support isolated older people right here in our towns and villages.

Where Does Your Money Go?
Quite simply, every pound you donate goes directly to helping an older person in the community. We don’t have large overheads or paid fundraising teams, so your support goes straight to the front line, making a real and lasting impact on someone's life.

Why Gift Aid Matters
Gift Aid is one of the simplest ways to make your donation go further — at no extra cost to you. If you’re a UK taxpayer, charities can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate, helping them provide more support, reach more people, and make a bigger impact.
That means a £20 donation becomes £25, simply through Gift Aid.

This year, BACS is proud to support Volunteer Action, our nominated charity for 2026. Volunteer Action is a UK-based, award‑winning local charity that works at the heart of communities to help people who are elderly, disabled, unwell, or socially isolated maintain their independence and quality of life. Through services such as community car schemes, befriending support and social activities, Volunteer Action helps people stay connected, access vital appointments, and continue living independently within their own homes and communities. Their work makes a real, practical difference to those who need support most, particularly in rural and isolated areas, and in 2025 they were recognised with the King’s Award for Voluntary Service for their outstanding contribution to the community.
At BACS, we strongly believe in giving back and supporting organisations that have a tangible, positive impact on people’s lives. Volunteer Action relies heavily on donations and fundraising to continue providing these essential services, and every contribution helps ensure that vulnerable members of the community are not left feeling forgotten or alone.
Sponsored Ultra Marathon
Vic, Penny and Carl are raising money this year for Volunteer Action and are currently training to run the Nene Way Ultra Marathon.
