A truly unforgettable and proud moment for everyone at Volunteer Action
on 10th April 2026 – at Barnwell Village Hall, we were honoured to receive the King’s Award for Voluntary Service — the highest recognition given to volunteer groups across the UK. The award was presented by the Lord-Lieutenant of Northamptonshire to our Chair, Lloyd Martin, in front of an incredible gathering of 100 of our dedicated volunteers.
We were also privileged to be joined by distinguished guests including the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Northamptonshire, a Deputy Lieutenant, two Cadets, Lee Barron MP, and local and unitary councillors — all helping to make the occasion even more special.
This award belongs to every single volunteer who gives their time, energy, and compassion to support our communities. Your commitment is what makes Volunteer Action what it is, and we couldn’t be prouder.
Thank you to everyone who attended and celebrated with us — a day we will never forget.
